Implemented Law on Cybersecurity (No. 24/2018/QH14) including data localisation requirement

On 1 January 2019, the Law on Cybersecurity (No. 24/2018/QH14), which includes data localisation requirements, entered into force. Article 26 requires domestic and foreign service providers operating on telecom networks, the Internet, and other value-added services in cyberspace in Vietnam to store personal data collected, used, analysed, and processed within the country. Additionally, foreign enterprises must establish a branch or representative office in Vietnam.
