European Union: Opened ESMA consultation on digital finance

On 25 May 2021, the Call for evidence on digital finance is opened by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). In particular, the consultation requests information on three topics: the fragmentation of value chains, arising by the increasing reliance on third parties' services by financial and technology firms; the access to financial services through digital platforms and the practice of bundling financial services from different firms; the mixed activity commercial groups providing both financial and non-financial services. The consultation will end on 1 August 2021.
