Description

Closed CNIL Investigation into Tagadamedia

On 28 May 2024, the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL) closed its investigation into Tagadamedia for collecting prospective customers' data without valid consent. After the company was fined EUR 75'000, the CNIL also ordered Tagadamedia to implement a General Data Protection Regulation compliant data collection form within one month, subject to a daily fine of EUR 1'000 in case of non-compliance back in December 2023. The CNIL now found that the company provided new forms enabling free, specific, informed and unambiguous consent to be obtained and, therefore, waived the additional daily fine.
