On 29 December 2023, the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL) imposed a fine of EUR 75'000 on Tagadamedia for collecting prospective customers' data without valid consent. The company's forms for data collection were found to be misleading and lacked a clear opinion to refuse data collection, thus failing to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (Articles 6 and 30 GDPR). The CNIL also ordered Tagadamedia to implement a GDPR-compliant data collection form within one month, subject to a daily fine of EUR 1'000 in case of non-compliance.
