On 30 May 2024, the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) of Singapore, together with the AI Verify Foundation (AIVF), adopted the Model AI Governance Framework for Generative AI (MGF-Gen AI). The framework expands on the existing Model Governance Framework for Traditional AI, aiming to address new issues that have emerged with generative AI. The proposed framework includes practical insights from evaluation tests and responses from local and international companies. It proposes nine dimensions to support a comprehensive and trusted AI ecosystem, with core principles that AI decisions should be explainable, transparent, and fair. The nine dimensions include accountability, data quality, trusted development and deployment, incident reporting, testing, assurance and security, content provenance, safety and alignment research and development, and AI for the public good.
