Singapore: Announced Draft Model AI Governance Framework for Generative AI

On 16 January 2024, the AI Verify Foundation (AIVF) and Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) of Singapore announced the Draft Model AI Governance Framework for Generative AI. This framework expands on the existing Model Governance Framework for Traditional AI, aiming to address new issues that have emerged with Generative AI. The proposed framework includes practical insights from ongoing evaluation tests. It proposes nine dimensions to support a comprehensive and trusted AI ecosystem, with core principles that AI decisions should be explainable, transparent, and fair. The nine dimensions include, among others: accountability, data quality, trusted development and deployment, incident reporting, testing and assurance and security.
