Announced additional commitments to the Voluntary Code of Conduct on the Responsible Development and Management of Advanced Generative AI Systems

On 27 May 2024, the Canadian Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry announced additional commitments to the “Voluntary Code of Conduct on the Responsible Development and Management of Advanced Generative AI Systems”. The Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry announced that eight further companies have made a voluntary commitment to the Code of Conduct, namely Alloprof, Kyndryl, Lenovo, Levio, MaRS Discovery District, Mastercard, Organisme d'autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ) and Salesforce. The Code of Conduct is part of the ongoing development to create a safe environment for artificial intelligence (AI) in Canada and identifies applicable measures regarding operations involving generative AI systems.
