Opened consultation on CMA digital markets competition regime guidance

On 24 May 2024, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) opened a public consultation on its draft guidance for the digital markets competition regime until 12 July 2024, as established by Part 1 of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act. The draft guidance outlines the CMA's approach towards its functions under the Act. The guidance covers a range of topics, including the criteria for designating firms with Strategic Market Status (SMS), the imposition and variation of conduct requirements on SMS firms, pro-competition interventions, and the CMA's investigatory powers and enforcement strategies.
