United States of America: Passed Bill for an Act Concerning Consumer Protections in Interactions with Artificial Intelligence Systems (SB 24-205) including design requirement

On 3 May 2024, the Colorado Senate passed the Bill for an Act Concerning Consumer Protections in Interactions with Artificial Intelligence Systems (SB 24-205). The Bill would require artificial intelligence (AI) developers, including those of general-purpose models, to label outputs as synthetic digital content. Furthermore, the Bill would require deployers to inform consumers if AI systems, including general-purpose models, generate or alter synthetic digital content.
