Description

Adopted Resolution lifting the moratium on antitrust inspections of IT companies (Resolution No. 340)

6. On 20 March 2024, the Government of the Russian Federation adopted Resolution No. 340 to lift the moratorium on antitrust inspections of IT companies. This decision reverses the ban introduced in 2022, responding to numerous complaints from the information technology market, particularly from small and medium-sized enterprises and consumers, about violations by companies holding a dominant position in the market. The resumption of antitrust control aims to ensure equal conditions for all market participants. The resolution aims to combat abuses by dominant digital services and platforms, protect the rights and interests of smaller businesses, prevent cartelisation in the IT sector, and foster the development of the industry under fair competition conditions.
