Adopted PIPC Personal Information Impact Assessment Performance Guide

On 18 April 2024, the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) adopted the Personal Information Impact Assessment Performance Guide. The guide clarifies the obligations regarding impact assessments following the amendments made to the Personal Information Protection Act by Law No. 19234, which entered into force on 15 September 2023 and the amendments to its Enforcement Decree that entered into force on 1 January 2024. In particular, the guide provides information on pseudonymous data processing, mobile video information processing devices, and automated decision-making.
