The New Zealand Digital Identity Services Bill 2021 has been introduced in the New Zealand Parliament. The Bill provides for the establishment of a Trust Framework (TF) for digital identity service providers, including two new administering bodies, the TF Board and the TF Authority. The TF board would be responsible for drafting and recommeding new rules to the responsible minister, as well as educating TF providers and the public, and monitoring the effectiveness of the framework. The TF Authority would be responsible for administering the accreditation regime for digital identity service providers.
