Announced SEC Rule change to list and trade shares of the Bitwise Ethereum ETF

On 2 April 2024, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) published a proposed rule change regarding the New York Stock Exchange NYSE Arca, Inc. (NYSE Arca). The rule proposes to allow the listing and trading of shares of the Bitwise Ethereum ETF according to Section 19(b)(1)1 and Rule 19b-4 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 ("Act"). The NYSE Arca believes that the proposed rule change is designed to protect investors and the public interest by preventing fraudulent and manipulative acts and practices. The SEC will decide on the approval or rejection of the proposed rule change within 45 days after its publication, in any case, no longer than 90 days. The public consultation on the proposed rule change will be open for 21 days after its publication in the Federal Register.
