On 9 February 2024, the Bill to Protect Privacy of Biological Data (HB24-1058) was passed by the Colorado House of Representatives. The Bill expands the definition of "sensitive data" under the Colorado Privacy Act to include "biological data" and "neural data". Biological data includes data generated by the technological processing, measurement, or analysis of an individual's biological, genetic, biochemical, physiological properties, compositions, or activities of an individual's body or bodily functions, and "neural data" concerns the activity of an individual's central or peripheral nervous systems.
