On 10 January 2024, the Bill to Protect Privacy of Biological Data (HB24-1058) was introduced in the Colorado House of Representatives. The Bill aims to expand the definition of "sensitive data" under the Colorado Privacy Act to include "biological data", which characterises the biological, genetic, biochemical, physiological properties, compositions, or activities of an individual's body or bodily functions, and "neural data", which concerns the activity of an individual's central or peripheral nervous systems.
