Adopted EU-Brazil declaration following 12th Digital Dialogue

On 21 March 2024, the representatives of Brazil and the European Union issued a joint declaration after the 12th Digital Dialogue. The parties noted the commitment to address a variety of issues connected to digital transformation, including digital connectivity, digital government, integrity of information online, and policy frameworks for the data economy, artificial intelligence, and digital platforms. In particular, the parties stated that they would continue the dialogue and would focus on personal data protection and cross-border data transfers, with the aim of finalising mutual adequacy decisions. The implementation of these actions will be regulated by a work plan to be agreed on at the operational level.
