Description

Issued European Commission request for information to LinkedIn regarding targeted advertising practices under Digital Services Act

On 14 March 2024, the European Commission requested information on LinkedIn's adherence to the prohibition of presenting advertisements based on profiling using special categories of personal data under the Digital Service Act (DSA). LinkedIn is also required to demonstrate how it ensures transparency requirements for advertisements are met. LinkedIn, designated as a very large online platform in April 2023, is obligated to comply with the DSA's provisions, including the ban on presenting advertisements based on profiling using special categories of personal data. The LinkedIn must provide the information requested by 5 April 2024.
