Description

Issued Updates on the Age Verification Enforcement Programme including the announcement of an investigation against Secure Live Media Ltd

On 15 June 2023, the Office of Communications (Ofcom) issued an update on its enforcement programme focusing on age assurance measures within the adult Video Sharing Platform (VSP) sector. Ofcom has evaluated the protective measures of smaller notified adult VSP providers and identified necessary improvements. As a result, several providers have already enhanced their access controls. Ofcom has opened an investigation into Secure Live Media Ltd, the presumed operator of CamSoda, for potential notification failure and lack of protection measures for minors. The programme will be extended by 3 months.
