United Kingdom: Launched Ofcom's Age Verification Enforcement Programme

On 10 January 2023, the Office of Communications (Ofcom) announced the initiation of an enforcement programme focusing on age assurance measures within the adult Video Sharing Platform (VSP) sector. The programme aims to assess the robustness of age assurance measures implemented by notified adult VSPs, identify non-notified platforms that may lack appropriate measures to safeguard minors from pornographic content, and understand the challenges providers face in implementing such measures.
