Netherlands: Opened consultation on the draft Data Regulation Implementation Act

On 4 March 2024, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy opened a consultation until 1 April 2024 on the draft law for the implementation of EU Regulation 2023/2854 on harmonised rules for fair access to and fair use of data. The draft law aims to align Dutch laws with the Data Regulation, designating the Netherlands Consumer and Market Authority (ACM) and the Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP) as the competent authorities and setting out rules for their cooperation and exchange of information.
