Extension of the WTO Moratorium on Customs Duties on Electronic Transmissions at MC13

On 1 March 2024, the Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) adopted a decision to continue the Work Programme on Electronic Commerce. The decision includes a specific focus on the development needs of developing and least-developed country members. The decision also calls for continued collaboration with intergovernmental organisations and addresses the main trade-related challenges faced by developing and least-developed country members in the development of their digital economy. The current practice of not imposing customs duties on electronic transmissions is agreed to be maintained until the 14th Session of the Ministerial Conference or 31st March 2026, whichever is earlier.
