On 28 February 2024, the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority (KFST) approved Norlys' acquisition of Telia's Danish business, which includes mobile telephony, broadband, and TV services. The approval came with several binding commitments for Norlys to ensure that the merger does not negatively impact consumers requiring broadband or mobile telephony. In particular, the KFST required Norlys to provide competitors with access to its fibre network in Denmark on reasonable and non-discriminatory terms. This includes all existing and future fibre networks. The KFST had concerns about Norlys adding mobile telephony to its product portfolio, potentially limiting competition in broadband sales and bundling mobile telephony with broadband. These concerns were addressed by Norlys' commitments.
