Description

Closed consultation on Act implementing the Electronic Communications Law (wPKE)

On 12 March 2024, the Ministry of Digitalization closed its consultation on the Act implementing the Electronic Communications Law (wPKE), transposing the European Electronic Communications Code (ECE). The consultation sought feedback on the proposed changes, including the repeal of the existing PT Act and the introduction of the PKE Act, which will enter into force 6 months after its adoption. The implementation of the ECE will result in substantive changes in some acts, including the Act of 7 May 2010 on Support for the Development of Telecommunications Services and Networks. The objective of these changes is to enhance the existing regulations and address any intertemporal situations that may arise due to the replacement of the current regulations with the provisions of PKE.
