Introduced New York Artificial Intelligence Bill of Rights (S 8209), including testing requirements to the Senate

On 12 January 2024, the New York Artificial Intelligence Bill of Rights (S 8209) requiring pre-deployment testing for automated systems was introduced to the New York Senate. The Bill mandates that these systems undergo risk identification and mitigation and are subject to ongoing monitoring to ensure they are safe and effective. If an automated system fails to meet these requirements, it is not to be deployed and must be removed if it was released to the market.
