Announced Federal Cabinet approval of draft Federal Data Protection Act, including measures redefining the legal basis for scoring

On 7 February 2024, the Federal Cabinet approved the draft law issued by the Federal Interior Minister to amend the Federal Data Protection Act, including measures redefining the legal basis for scoring. In particular, the draft law would prohibit the use of sensitive data, including ethnic origin, biometric data and health data, data subject's name, address and transaction history data, and minor's data to generate probability values for scoring.
