Implemented Data Protection Act 2023 including data protection authority governance
On 23 March 2023, the Data Protection Act 2023 was implemented following its publication in the Official Bulletin. The Act establishes a Data Protection Authority (DPA) to promote the protection of personal data and oversee the implementation and enforcement of the law across all economic sectors. The DPA is also empowered to issue guidance on compliance with data breach and communication obligations, and conduct investigations regarding the implementation of the Act.
