Announced EU-Canada Digital Partnership including artificial intelligence regulation

On 24 November 2023, the European Union and Canada announced they launched the EU-Canada Digital Partnership. The countries aim to outline a regulatory approach to artificial intelligence (AI). Under the partnership, the parties aim to exchange regulatory approaches to address AI-related risks and enhance the collaboration on AI in international forums, such as G7, G20, OECD and the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI). The parties also aim to cooperate on AI standards and share information on legal frameworks.
