European Union: Announced start of implementation of EU-Canada Digital Partnership including interoperability requirements

On 1 February 2024, the European Union and Canada announced the start of the work on implementing the Digital Partnership, including interoperability requirements. The parties stated that they promote interoperability of digital identity, digital credentials, and trust services through pilot projects. The partnership is a framework for voluntary cooperation and aims to promote interoperability and enhance the security of digital transactions across both regions.
