Implemented Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (MiCA) including authorisation requirements for asset-referenced tokens and e-money tokens
On 30 June 2024, the Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (MiCA) comes into force. The Regulation applies to issuers of e-money tokens and asset-referenced tokens. In particular, the issuers of e-money tokens and asset-referenced tokens have to register with designated authorities in the Member State and obtain authorisation to operate in the European Union. Furthermore, the issuers of crypto-assets have to provide information regarding their capital, technical features of the digital good, and their security protocols.
