Description

Adopted revised Guidelines on Pseudonymised Data

On 2 February 2024, the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) revised its standards for pseudonymisation of unstructured data, such as images, videos, audio, and text, based on the technological developments and development of artificial intelligence. The PIPC revised these standards because the existing guidelines only provided standards for structured data, leading to uncertainty in the field as companies and research institutions were unaware of suitable pseudonymisation methods or standards.
