Announced Technical Table to Develop a Code of Conduct for Influencer Compliance with the Consolidated Law on Audiovisual Media Services

On 22 January 2024, the Italian Communications Regulatory Authority (AGCOM) approved the “Guidelines to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Unified Text by influencers and the establishment of a specific Technical Table'” The Technical Table, chaired and coordinated by the Media Services Directorate, aims to develop a code of conduct that identifies the application criteria of the essential provisions indicated by the Guidelines. These provisions include technical and instrumental precautions, transparency and recognisability systems for influencers, and violation reporting functionality to the Authority. The Technical Table will also plan and implement informative campaigns to promote awareness and responsibility in the influencer marketing sector. The activities of the Technical Table related to the adoption of the code of conduct will be completed within 120 days of its establishment.
