On 5 February 2024, the Oklahoma Artificial Intelligence Bill of Rights was introduced to the Oklahoma House of Representatives. The law establishes the rights of Oklahomans when interacting with artificial intelligence (AI), including the rights to know when they are interacting with an AI engine rather than a real person and when contracts and other documents they are relying on were generated by an AI engine. The law also provides the right to know when they are consuming images or text generated entirely by an AI engine and not reviewed by a human, and the right to approve any derivative media that is generated by an AI engine and uses audio recordings of their voice or images of them to recreate their likeness. The law will become effective from 1 November 2024.
