Italy: Closed public consultation in GPDP inquiry into the collection of personal data online to train algorithms

On 21 January 2024, the public consultation of the Italian Authority for the Protection of Personal Data (GPDP) concerning their inquiry into the collection of personal data online to train algorithms ended. The purpose of this inquiry is to examine public and private websites to ensure the implementation of effective security measures, preventing the extensive collection of personal data by third parties for training artificial intelligence algorithms. This initiative focuses on verifying the adoption of security measures across both public and private online platforms.
