Italy: Opened public consultation in GPDP inquiry into the collection of personal data online to train algorithms

On 22 November 2023, the Italian Authority for the Protection of Personal Data (GPDP) opened a public consultation concerning its inquiry into the collection of personal data online to train algorithms until 21 January 2024. The purpose of this inquiry is to examine public and private websites to ensure the implementation of effective security measures, preventing the extensive collection of personal data by third parties for training artificial intelligence algorithms. This initiative focuses on verifying the adoption of security measures across both public and private online platforms.
