Japan: Announced US-Japan Partnership for Growth and Innovation including commitment to regulate Artificial Intelligence

On 29 July 2022, the United States (US) and Japan convened the inaugural ministerial meeting of the Japan-US Economic Policy Consultative Committee (EPCC). The parties committed to exploring and supporting joint research and the development of projects between the parties and partners in critical emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence.
