Closed EBA Consultation on the Reporting of Transactions with Asset-referenced Tokens and E-money Tokens Denominated in a non-EU Currency under MICA

On 8 February 2024, the consultation of the European Banking Authority (EBA) within the framework of the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MICA) was closed. The focus was on the draft Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) that outline the methodology to be employed by issuers of asset-referenced tokens (ARTs) and e-money tokens (EMTs) denominated in a non-EU currency for reporting transactions linked to the use of these tokens as a means of exchange. Additionally, the EBA sought input on draft Implementing Technical Standards (ITS) that delineate the corresponding reporting requirements under MiCA. These consultations, along with other papers released on the same day, constitute a part of the third batch of MiCA policy products.
