Issued Rheinland-Palatinate DPA second request to OpenAI on ChatGPT's personal data processing practices

On 26 October, the Rheinland-Palatinate Data Protection Authority (LFDI) announced it had requested additional information from OpenAI about ChatGPT's personal data processing practices. This request follows a first set of answers delivered by OpenAI to the LFDI, which coordinates the other German data protection authorities in the matter. In this new request for information, the LFDI focuses on information about the processing of special categories of personal data according to Article 9 of the GDPR. Also, questions about the rectification and erasure of personal data must be answered, as well as if personal data is properly recognised as such in the training and use of ChatGPT.
