Introduced Bill for transparency regarding AI-generated content (HB 6466)

On 21 November 2023, the Bill for transparency regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI) generated content (AI Labeling Act/HB 6466) was introduced in the United States Senate. The Bill requires developers of generative AI systems to include a disclosure that identifies AI-generated content and AI chatbots. Furthermore, it aims to prevent the publication of content by imposing obligations on developers of generative AI systems. In addition, the Bill seeks to establish a working group with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and other relevant federal agencies to develop a framework. The Framework shall include technical standards to support platforms, guidelines for the implementation, and recommendations for detection practices for non-audiovisual AI-generated content.
