Opened ACMA investigation into Uber's alleged violation of spam laws

On 4 May 2023, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) opened an investigation into Uber over an alleged violation of the Australian Spam Act. The ACMA stated that it received complaints claiming that Uber violated Australian spam laws by sending marketing emails without an unsubscribe option between 1 August 2022 and 4 May 2023.
