Filed Meta appeal against court ruling upholding Datatilsynet daily fine on Meta

On 25 October 2023, Meta appealed Norway's Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) daily NOK 1 million fine due to non-compliance with the ban on behavioural advertising before the Oslo District Court. The Datatilsynet imposed a ban on behavioural advertising on Meta's platforms, Facebook and Instagram, arguing that the practice is illegal and Meta has to provide evidence that it is compliant with data protection regulations. The trial is expected to take place in 2024.
