Description

Adopted Administrative Arrangements with French and Irish regulators regarding Commission Recommendation on Coordinating responses to dissemination of illegal content

On 23 October 2023, the European Commission announced that it had signed administrative arrangements between the French media regulator Arcom and the Irish regulator Coimisiún na Meán. The arrangements follow the Council Recommendation addressed to EU Member States encouraging them to voluntarily collaborate in addressing the spread of illegal content on online platforms prior to the full implementation of the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the establishment of the Board of Digital Services Coordinators on 17 February 2024. As a result, the Commission and the national authorities in question will be able to exchange information and effectively cooperate to facilitate the Commission's role of assessing systemic risks under the DSA.
