United States of America: Announced NO FAKES Act of 2023

On 12 October 2023, Senators Coons, Blackburn, Klobuchar, and Tillis released the draft "Foster Art, and Keep Entertainment Safe Act of 2023" (NO FAKES Act). The proposed Act establishes the right of individuals to authorise the use of the image, voice, or visual likeness in a digital replica. The Act aims to protect the voice and visual likenesses of individuals from generative artificial intelligence (AI) by preventing the production or distribution of AI-generated replicas without consent.
