Indonesia: Issued interim ruling in the investigation into Meta requiring it to remove gambling content

On 2 October 2023, the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Informatics (MCI) issued an interim ruling in the investigation into Meta regarding online gambling content. The interim ruling in the form of a letter concerns Meta’s obligation to ensure that electronic gambling content and activities are not disseminated on their platform. The MCI ordered Meta Representatives to remove content that supports, promotes or facilitates online gambling or slot gambling displayed on its platforms.
