European Union: Adopted Joint Communication on European Economic Security Strategy

On 20 June 2023, the European Commission and the High Representative endorsed the Joint Communication on the European Economic Security Strategy. The strategy adopts a three-pillar approach, emphasising the promotion of the EU's economic base and competitiveness, safeguarding against risks, and establishing partnerships with diverse countries to address shared concerns and interests. The communication delineates specific actions to address challenges related to the resilience of supply chains, security of critical infrastructures, both physical and cyber, technology security and leakage.
