FTC signed UCENet Memorandum of Understanding on Cross-border Cooperation on Combatting Unsolicited Communications

On 21 September 2023, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced that it signed a renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cross-border cooperation to combat unsolicited communications. The MoU among the public authorities comprising the Unsolicited Communications Enforcement Network (UCENet) aims to combat spam, scams, and illegal telemarketing on an international scale. The renewed MoU extends the MoU, which was initially established in 2016, to address emerging threats and trends related to unsolicited communications. The authorities from Canada, Australia, South Korea, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom are signatories of the MoU.
