Russia: Opened consultation on Amendments to Russian Government’s Resolution No. 1101 of 26 October 2012 including methods of accessing restricted information resources and networks

On 1 September 2023, the Ministry of Digital Development opened a consultation on the amendments to the Russian Government’s Resolution No. 1101 dated 26 October 2012, until 20 September 2023. The amendments incorporate two significant changes. Firstly, they expand paragraph 5 (a) which oversees the Unified Register of Domain Names and website page indices on the Internet. This expansion specifically involves the inclusion of details regarding approaches to accessing restricted information resources and networks within the Russian Federation. Additionally, the revisions encompass the expansion of Clause 4 governing the decision-making authority of federal executive bodies authorised by the Government in matters about prohibited online content. This extension introduces subparagraph "e," which relates to information concerning methods for accessing information resources and networks subject to restrictions within the Russian Federation.
