Australia: Closed consultation on Treasury inquiry into unfair trading practices in the Australian Consumer Law

On 29 November 2023, the Department of the Treasury of Australia’s Government closed the public consultation on the inquiry into unfair trading practices in the Australian Consumer Law. The Treasury requested evidence regarding the nature of unfair trading practices and the extent to which consumers and small businesses are adversely affected by potential gaps in the Consumer Law. The Treasury gathered information from stakeholders on potential policy options to address unfair trading practices.
