On 6 September 2023, the Japan Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communication published the results of the consultation on the Research Committee on Platform Services draft report on direction for future consideration on measures against illegal and harmful information. The working group discussed measures against illegal and harmful information such as defamation and sought opinions on this from 2 June 2023 to Friday 30 June 2023.
