Opened consultation on NIST algorithms designed to withstand quantum computer attacks

On 24 August 2023, the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) opened its consultation on standardising encryption algorithms capable of resisting attacks by quantum computers. The consultation will close on 22 November 2023. The consultation covers three draft standards, released by NIST, for algorithms designed to withstand attacks from quantum computers. A draft standard for a fourth algorithm will be released in about a year.
