On 31 August 2023, the public consultation closed on the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) Advisory Guidelines on the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) for Children's Personal Data. The guidelines address matters concerning obtaining children's consent, handling their personal data, and implementing additional protection standards. The PDPC gathered information regarding the application scope, whether the guidelines should apply to organisations that offer products or services to children or to all products and services that could be accessed by children, including data intermediaries. Furthermore, PDPC gathered information regarding what would classify as reasonable purposes for collecting children's personal data and the measures that should be implemented to minimise the collection, use, and disclosure of their data.
